Leo / Tuesday, June 6, 2006 / Categories: 2006 Registering To Vote Just Got Easier Thanks To Walgreens West Palm Beach, FL - June 6, 2006 - The Supervisor of Elections Office is happy to announce a statewide partnership with Walgreens and the Florida Retail Federation. Voter registration materials will now be available in Walgreens stores throughout the entire state. Each of the nearly 700 Walgreens locations will have Voter Applications at the check-out and prescription counters. Voters will have the opportunity to pick up an application, fill it out at home and mail it to the county Supervisor of Elections. “We are excited to declare this alliance and provide our constituents with the unique opportunity to register and update registration information and reach new voters,” said PBC Supervisor of Elections, Dr. Arthur Anderson. “Voter registration is essential to a strong democracy, and it is our goal to reach out to citizens wherever they are and provide every possible option for them to register to vote.” “Offering voter registration at Walgreens is a good way to serve both our customers and the state of Florida,” added Brad Wasson, Walgreens vice president of store operations. “This program is a tremendous chance to increase citizen participation, because retailers have the ability to reach every resident of Florida.
