What is Amendment 4?

This amendment was passed by Florida voters on November 6, 2018.  The ballot summary stated,

"This amendment restores the voting rights of Floridians with felony convictions after they complete all terms of their sentence, including parole or probation.  The amendment does not apply to those convicted of murder or felony sexual offenses, who would continue to be permanently barred from voting unless the Governor and Cabinet vote to restore their voting rights on a case by case basis."

It is the voter's responsibility to confirm whether or not their voting rights have been restored. The Office of the Public Defender may be able to assist you in determining your voting rights: http://www.pd15.state.fl.us/; (561) 355-7655.

The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office proudly serves prospective voters in the act of voter registration. Under this new law, the role of the Supervisor of Elections remains the same. If the voter affirms they meet all qualifications, we will accept their registration application.

New voter registration can be completed by downloading a Voter Registration Application Form (English/Spanish), which should be printed, filled out completely, and mailed or hand-delivered to the Supervisor of Elections office no later than 29 days prior to Election Day to be valid for the upcoming election. Voter Registration forms are also available at any Supervisor of Elections office or a public agency such as the Tax Collector's office, Public Library, Public Assistance Agency, or Post Office. New voter registrations may also be completed online using this Voter Registration link.
