Sunshine State Young Readers Awards (SSYRA) Elections Program

Kids Vote for their favorite book in Palm Beach County

Young Readers VOTE!

All students in Palm Beach County have the opportunity to vote for their favorite 2019-2020 Sunshine State Young Readers Awards (SSYRA) book with the help of the Supervisor of Elections Office (SOE). The SOE will facilitate voting using ballots that allow students in grades K-8 vote for their favorite book. The ballot is programmed by the SOE office with the book photo, title, and author to identify the book.

After voting, the student will receive an, "I Voted" sticker, pencil, pen, and a certificate of completion for participating in the election. The results will be shared with each school that participates.

It is important to introduce the students to the importance of reading, submitting a vote and the electoral process. It is never too early to educate students and begin the early stages of voting and the voting equipment!
